A little bit about us and our philosophy
Sale Knowledge Tree was born out of one person's belief, that everyone deserved the opportunity to improve, whatever their age and whatever their reason to do so.
Jane Lowe Dip RSA had the experience in the past of how a dedicated tutor could take Jane's grandson at the age of 4 and, had not only substantially improved his Maths and English, but also gave a boost to his self-esteem and confidence.
After being made redundant, Jane also found how Adults can also benefit greatly from having additional Numeracy, Literacy and IT training.
Having secured a post delivering the goverment's "Skills for Life" and "Learndirect" initiatives, Jane worked hard to increase her own knowledge, taking many courses and qualifications, as well as gaining a reputation for driving people onto higher things with her enthusiasm and encouragement.
Pupils from these initatives began to ask if Jane could help them with their children, both by teaching the parents how to work with the modern school curriculum, and by working with the children directly.
Using her experience and qualification in Advice and Guidance, Jane developed lesson plans for each individual pupil. These lesson plans acted not just as a guide to each session's structure, but also allowed for that structure to be tailored to the pupils needs and ability. As a means to deliver these services, Sale Knowledge Tree was created.
With Jane as the Principal Tutor, and overseeing all Initial Assessment sessions, Sale Knowledge Tree only uses fully qualified tutors, all of whom have worked directly with Jane in the past. These hand-picked tutors all share the same philosophy and work to a similar high standard. All the tutors are fully C.R.B. checked
Jane has lived in, and around Sale, for most of her life and has currently got the following qualifications :-
Level 5 Subject Specialist (Maths)
Level 4 AIG (Advice and Guidance)
Level 3 ECDL (European Computer Driving License)
Level 3 PTLLS (Preparing To Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
Level 3 NVQ Assessor
I.T.Q (NVQ for I.T. Users)
Jane is also a Member of Institute for Learning.
On a personal level, Jane has lived in Sale for over 35 years, She has a partner, a daughter (39),a son (36), a step-daughter (26)and 2 grandchildren (19 and 12)
